Entering into His Presence Part #02

Psalm 27:4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.

What happens when God’s Presence shows up in a powerful way:

1. The atmosphere changes. In 2 Chronicles 7 at the dedication of the temple God's Presence filled the temple and God's glory fell. His Presence was so strong that the priest could not minister, the singers couldn't sing, the musicians could not play. It caused the rest of the congregation to fall down before God. Spectacular things will happen in a church service when God’s Presence shows up. Signs, wonders, and miracles take place. 2. We repent. In Isaiah 6:1-7 God appeared to Isaiah in all of his glory, and when this happened, it caused Him to repent. God’s Presence will expose our hearts and the sin in it. When this happens, we will be so overcome by His Presence that we will repent or we will get out of His Presence so that we want not to have to deal with our sin issues. Jesus’ light exposes the sin in us. Jesus said in John 3:

John 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

To truly dwell in the presence of God, we must let His light expose us.

3. We change. When we repent, when we humble our self, there is a change in us. Let’s look at Jacob. He was a liar a schemer, he was a coward. But one night he had an encounter with God. He wrestled with God and was determined to receive God’s blessing. After he met with God, he was changed. He had found the God of his grandpa Abraham and his dad Isaac. He wasn’t the same. When you have an encounter with God you change.

4. God’s Presence moves us to do what He wants.

Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

After Isaiah had an encounter with God, he was moved to do whatever the God wanted. When we respond to the Presence of God, we will want to do whatever He wants. Ministry, witnessing, just simply be available to do whatever He wants

Today, may we all encounter God’s presence in a mighty way.
