Entering into His Presence Part #01

Psalm 27:4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.

There is something about the Presence of God that is like nothing else. It is better than a high from drugs or alcohol. Better than winning a lot of money. His Presence gives confidence when there is doubt, it gives peace in the troubled time, it gives strength to tear down mountains, it gives you the power to live for Him. God’s Presence….is to bring us into intimacy with Him. But many Christians have never really experienced a strong presence of God….they don’t have an intimate relationship with God. This is what God is saying to His people

“I want to dwell with you….talk with you….be ever present in your day and life. I want you to recognize my Presence in a mighty way. I want to have an intimate relationship with you. He says, “I desire to talk with all my children, but many are too busy to listen. Everyday life has consumed their minds and thoughts….this has kept them away from Me. Living close to me requires making me your first love….your highest priority. Know this if you seek My Presence above all else you will find Me, and I will dwell with you.”

The word intimacy means…..closeness, togetherness, rapport, attachment, familiarity, friendliness, friendship, affection, warmth, confidence.

Do we recognize His Presence and realize He wants to be close to us? The problem is that many Christian do not recognize God's presence or have not really been in His Presence in a powerful way….they accepted Him as their Savior….but never became intimate with Him. There are people who can’t understand people lifting their hands….clapping their hands….getting all emotional. They don’t understand when they hear someone say in a church service "God Presence is here?" One of the reasons is people have never taken time to wait on God and get to know who He is. Another reason….is they have no time for God in their normal week unless they need something….they spend very little time with Him. But God says, I want to change that with you I want to become intimate with you.

God’s desire is to be with you. Jeremiah 29 tells us of God’s desire to be with us.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Plans to bless….plans to prosper….plans for hope and a bright future. We quote verses 11….but overlook verses 12 and 13. Verse 12 and 13 says we must call out to Him….we must pray….we must seek Him….and when we seek Him with all of our heart….He will listen….and we will then find Him. Seeking Him….means spending quality time with Him….which will make us more like Him….and brings forth what God wants to fulfill in us. By seeking Him we develop an intimate relationship.
