Blessed those who Follow God

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

Let’s look at Psalm 1. Blessings come to the righteous when he doesn’t join in with the sinner….meaning engaging in the things they do. Nor, does he seek or follow the advice of the sinner.

Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night.

The righteous love the Word of God. The righteous read the Word consistently. They obey His Word. They live their life….seeking guidance for their life from God's Word.

Psalm 1:3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Once one is into the Word and obeying it….they are strong….and are able to stand when trials come their way.…they also flourish….and are able to bless others.

Psalm 1:4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

Chaff is the outer shell (or husk) that must be removed to get the kernels of grain inside. Chaff was removed by a process called threshing and winnowing. After the plants were cut, they were crushed, and then the pieces were thrown into the air. Chaff is very light and is carried away by the slightest wind, while the good grain falls back to the earth. Chaff is a symbol of a faithless life that drifts along without direction. The wicked are like the chaff. There are not stable. They are wishy-washy. Psalm 1:5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

The wicked will not escape God's wrath when He judges. At the judgment, the righteous will be separated from wicked. At the judgment, the wicked will not be in line with the righteous. Remember the wicked means the sinner….those who reject God’s and His ways. Righteous are those who honor God and live according to his will.

Psalm 1:6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

God is with the righteous in every way….the good….the bad. He watches over them. But the wicked will perish. Remember everyone has a choice….we choose our destiny….we choose how we want to live. Hell is real, and God will judge according to the way we choose to live.
